The Best Toys For Babies And Their Development
Babies love to play and explore their world around them. When you search for the best toys for babies it is good to look for the ones that will spark their interest in cognitive development as well as entertain. The two seem to go hand in hand as babies are drawn to these types of toys.
Babies are drawn to basic designs and colors. They like patterns and they do not have to necessarily have to be colored. A basic black and white toy does the trick to keep the cognitive interest of a baby. They tend to enjoy types of zig zag patterns and the like that are basic yet intricate in their minds at the same time.
Babies also like to touch, feel, squeeze, suck and throw. They enjoy sounds a toy will make while playing with it. It seems like a suprise to them and then they begin to realize that they can create the sounds themselves thus creating cognitive recognition.
Babies also like to see themselves in mirrors and make faces at themselves. There are standard mirrors that are baby safe that you can attach to a crib or playpen. There are also toys that have mirrors in them in a piece of the toy for a baby to discover.
The best toys for babies up to twelve months are these type of toys that have the above specifications. If you find ones with colors the basic colors green, yellow and blue are the best. Green is easiest on the eyes and are pleasing for the longest period of time.
You want to make sure the toys are light enough for the baby to experience themselves and pick up and hold. Also that they are soft to the touch. You can get many toys that have many different touch points and colors that make sounds in certain places for the baby to discover.
As always you want to check a toy for safety before you give it to your child. You want to ensure that it does not have any toys that have pieces that could come off and get in to the baby’s mouth by accident. Check all toys also for strings or tags that could come off.
Your baby wants to play and you want your baby to learn. The best toys for babies are the ones that do both. With fun patterns your baby can develop their cognitive learning skills while enjoying their playful toy. By choosing safe toys your baby can discover their wonderful new world of imagination.

Our son’s favorite toy, November 24, 2009
Our son, Arnold, absolutely loves this toy. Whenever we put him down to play, he goes over to stand at it and loves to bounce up and down to the music.

My mother bought this for my son. I think it’s great. My son is 8 months old and he loved it immediately. We have yet to put it down on the floor without the legs because he likes cruising. The table is sturdy and has so much for little ones to do.
As a parent, I also appreciate the sounds and sounds vary. It’s not grating on your nerves. I hope my son grows with this.
BTW – one of my nephews has the Fisher Price version of this. We recently got togther and my son had more interest in the Fisher Price one, but that could have been because it was new to him.

it’s a must!, November 16, 2009
I purchased this from Amazon for my son when he was 4 months old based on the excellent reviews.
He was not quite ready to use it but showed some interests when I showed him how to play.
His interaction has been improved a lot since then and now it became his favorite toy.
He controls the keys, loves the musics, and toddle around the table.
It’s a must!

Entertaining! Love It!, November 16, 2009
After reading the other reveiws, I purchased this toy for my 13-month old niece and it is wonderful. She plays with it everyday, and it is light enough for her to move from room to room. She prefers the music more than the words and dances to it, and I love watching her dance. The other good thing is the recorded voice does not have that annoying tinny quality.
